Price limit

Some exchanges — Borsa İstanbul among them, at roughly ±10% a day — halt trading in an instrument once its price would move past a fixed band from the previous close. A stop or target placed outside that band on a given day simply can't fill: the order sits unexecuted until the next session, or until the price limit resets, which is exactly the situation a volatility halt also produces.
